JOHOR BAHRU, 2 FEB: Police have arrested another man to assist in investigation behind the provocation and commotion occurred last Friday during the Bersatu Youth Wing (Armada) gathering at Ulu Tiram here.
Johor police chief Comm Datuk Mohd Kamarudin Md Din said the suspect, in his 30s, was nabbed yesterday evening.
“So far, the total number of suspects arrested is three people to assist in investigation on the case.
“All of the suspects were detained in Johor Bahru where two of them were nabbed earlier while the third suspect was arrested yesterday evening,” he said.
Comm Mohd Kamarudin said this to reporters in a press conference after attending the opening of Johor Bahru South district police headquarters here today. The event was officiated by Narcotic Crimes Investigation Department (NCID) director Comm Datuk Mohd Khalil Kader Mohd.
“Investigations are still being carried out and we are identifying the suspects’ backgrounds, including which political parties these individuals are attached to.
“The police are also in the process of requesting a remand order on the three suspects,” said Comm Mohd Kamarudin.
He also urged the public to respect and adhere to the laws in order to maintain a harmonious surrounding among the community.
